MVC MOBILISES MINE SITE FLEETS THAT ARE UP FOR THE TASK
Light vehicles are the unsung heroes of mine sites. Bridging the gap between heavy production machinery and personnel, they serve as the backbone for transport, site maintenance and logistical support. These often harsh, high-risk operating environments equate to stringent fleet safety and performance certification requirements.
Mine Vehicle Consulting (MVC) does exactly what it says — acting on your behalf as an independent advisor and broker — translating unique mine requirements into a seamless vehicle procurement, attachment determination and manufacturing process. We ensure the best end-to-end solution to meet the demands of your operation.
Our services
FROM REQUIREMENTS CAPTURE TO DEPLOYMENT-READY SERVICE VEHICLES
Determining the initial details: vehicle make/MODEL and attachments
At MVC, we have extensive experience working with underground/surface mining and tunnelling/underground civils companies. In our initial consultation, we seek to understand the destination site conditions, safety standards, and typical operating use cases for light vehicles.
This grants us the necessary insight to advise which vehicles are the best fit, and what mine-specific modifications are mandatory vs. nice-to-have. Among the fleet and customisation options provided, we guide you through the process of weighing upfront capital vs. lifecycle cost, downtime risk and supportability to ensure you make an informed decision that best aligns with your needs.
Securing the stock fleet and any applicable prefabricated attachments
Leveraging our deep global networks of commercial-scale dealerships and OEMs, we can efficiently source fleets of the desired stock light vehicle in supply-constrained markets. We manage the communication channels directly on your behalf.
For instances where prefabricated components are selected for the build, we work with reputable suppliers to source volume requirements.
Fleet customisation and delivery to site
Our networks are not limited to vehicle suppliers. We partner with trusted engineers who effectively complete the fit-out of your fleet to applicable compliance standards. Some of the customisations we would typically oversee include:
- Fail-safe/requisite brake systems
- Fire suppression systems
- ROPS/FOPS
- Personnel carriers
- Tray and rear body layout
- Explosive boxes / magazines
- Wheel and rim upgrades
- Enhanced mirrors and visibility aids
- Electrical & control upgrades
- Safety, monitoring & compliance accessories
Once this process is completed fleet-wide, we certify compliance and coordinate the logistics for site deployment.
